Instructions

    • 1

Place the spool of thread onto one of the four thread pegs in the top right corner of the machine.

    • 2

Pull a length of thread that is approximately 12 inches long from the spool.

    • 3

Insert the end of the thread through the eyelet on top of the Lockstitch 2000. Pull the length of the thread through the eyelet.

    • 4

Allow the thread to drop down and lay on the table.

    • 5

Pick up the end of the thread and loop it just around the bottom of the tension knob on the front of the machine. The tension knob is located in the bottom left side of the head of the sewing machine. This knob adjusts how tightly the thread is held when the stitches are made.

    • 6

Insert the end of the thread through the eye on the take-up lever. Pull the thread through the take-up lever until all slack is removed from between the tension knob and the lever. The take-up lever is located on the left side of the sewing head. It has an opening that it slides up and down in, and is located directly above the needle.

    • 7

Allow the thread to hand straight down from the take-up lever. Notice a small loop of wire at the top of the needle. Hook the piece of thread behind the loop of wire.

    • 8

Insert the end of the thread through the eye of the needle and pull the slack from the thread.
