The Power Windows Don't Work in My Chrysler Sebring

While power window failure is often blamed on a bad regulator motor, this is typically not a plausible explanation when multiple windows suddenly fail. When multiple windows fail on the Sebring, the most likely culprit is a break in the electrical circuit.

Blown Fuse

Disconnected or Corroded Contacts

  • Another probable culprit is an bad connection between the window controls and the electrical system. Inspect the wires to the motors and to the switch panels by removing the inner door skin with the windows raised. It may be helpful to spray the connections with electrical contact cleaner, which is sold at auto parts stores.

Grounding Wire

  • There may be a wire break causing an electrical ground. With the inner door panel removed, look for any breaks in the wires running between the control switches and the engine compartment as well as the wires leading to the window motor.
