Introducing Tonia Larson from The Gunny Sack

eHow Crafts Blog

My name is Tonia Larson and I am a blogger at The Gunny Sack. As a new writer here at eHow, I wanted to introduce myself and share a little about my blog. I started The Gunny Sack at the end of 2010 as a way to share ideas with others and as a way for craft sale customers to find me online. Prior to 2010, I sold items that I crafted, sewed, painted and baked at craft sales and boutiques. Often, customers would ask how they could find me online or friends would ask how I made things. Having a blog was a way to meet both of these needs. The Gunny Sack is best known for Gifts In A JarHow to Fill A Balloon With Candy and Pepperoni Pizza Balls.

My mom is my inspiration for both my crafting and my cooking. Growing up, we had home cooked meals almost every night and would walk in the house after school to the smell of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. My mom let us help in the kitchen and taught us how to bake and cook. She also taught me how to sew — first by hand, then with her sewing machine and finally with a serger. One of my favorite crafting memories as a young girl was getting together with a group of mothers and daughters to make mop dolls. We were so impressed that we could turn a mop into a doll using hot glue and ribbons. I still love using glue guns, and mason jars are my favorite crafting material. I used a vintage blue mason jar to make the Ice Skating Date In A Jar that is shown above.

As a wife and mom of three, I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I love photography and traveling with my family. We are always looking forward to our next vacation! In addition to reading my articles on eHow, I want to invite you to visit The Gunny Sack to see what else I’ve been working on.
