Children's Museum of Indianapolis

  • Celebrate your child's birthday surrounded by dinosaurs or trains. Permanent exhibits at the Children's Museum of Indianapolis include Dinosphere, featuring a large collection of dinosaur fossils, and All Aboard, where more than 100 toy train sets are on display. The museum offers a private party room, along with admission for up to 20 guests. The party room can be reserved for an hour and a half. As of 2009, the birthday party package costs $270 for museum members or $300 for non-members. This also includes tickets for the carousel ride and a gift for your child. Indianapolis Zoo

  • Your child and her friends can spend her birthday feeding giraffes and playing with dolphins at the Indianapolis Zoo. The zoo offers an in-season party package running from March to October for up to 14 guests up to the age of 12. As of 2009, the in-season package costs $295 for zoo members and $325 for non-members. Adding extra guests costs $21 per person for members or $23.50 per person for non-members as of 2009. You'll be able to use a covered shelter for 1 hour and 30 minutes. The package also includes tickets to Dolphin Adventure, free giraffe feedings, free admission, ride tickets, goodie bags, ice cream and juice. Your child will get to march at the head of her own personal parade with a costumed character. She'll also receive a souvenir photo. Greatimes Family Fun Park

  • If your child enjoys playing arcade games or driving go-karts, consider having a birthday party at Greatimes Family Fun Park. Kids can have fun indoors at the arcade or climbing ropes in the Indoor Playland. Aside from go-karts, outdoor attractions include bumper boats, miniature golf and batting cages. You can choose from four levels of pricing. As of 2009, packages range from $10.95 per child for a basic package offering a party for an hour and 30 minutes and not including attractions such as bumper boats or go-karts to $22.95 per child for an ultimate package that includes unlimited access to attractions such as miniature golf and the Indoor Playland for a 3-hour period. Any package can be upgraded to include a special party theme for an additional $3 per child as of 2009. You need to have a minimum of eight guests to book a party.
