Hi, welcome. My name is Lisa Mohyla, and I am the founder of Exquisite Events. Today, I am going to show you a craft idea for using candles, and/or a candle and a candle centerpiece. You are going to need a cylinder container. The one I am using for today is about 14 inches tall with a six inch diameter. You are going to need some raffia, some sand, color of your choice, today I am using a natural color sand. And seashells. You will also need a glue gun, and some push pins. First thing we will do is take our cylinder vase, and we're going to pour our sand into it. Now, oftentimes, the sides that are not covered in sand as you can see, are going to get a little dusty. So be prepared. The next thing while this is settling, we're going to prep our candle. Now in order to prep the candle, first thing we're going to do is we're just going to trim the wick. We're going to take our raffia and we're going to tie it just in a knot, nothing fancy. Just going to tie it tight in a knot like so. Very simple. Trim the ends. Voila. Now we're going to take our glue gun and we're just going to put a tiny dab of glue on the raffia. And to the candle. So, I have added the glue, and I am going to go ahead and just add the push pin for a little bit of added security. Because what I'm going to do at this point is I'm going to glue a shell to the raffia, right above the pin. We're going to take our paper towel, we're going to spray the paper towel with some Windex. Now you don't want to spray inside the container because you don't want to get the sand wet. And you're just going to gently wipe around just to remove the dust. Slide your candle down as so and then just place the other shells where you like. It's fun to just let them drop where they may, just like you know, if they washed up on shore. And you have a very simple but natural, beautiful beach themed candle centerpiece. So have fun, use your creativity, add your style to it. This is Lisa, Exquisite Events.
