Hi, my name is Chris Wade, and I'm a contractor from the city of Los Angeles, and today I'm going to show you how to select tile for a kitchen backsplash. The backsplash is the area behind any countertop. Typically, it's going to be a tile or a marble or whatever but we're just kind of look at a few little things right now. Assuming our countertop is done, the backsplash can just be a variety of, there's just a multitude of flavors you can choose from. Right now, we've just got, just a 6 X 6 slate on top of a countertop. You could do that pattern. You could choose from a pattern of just the same all the way. They can be staggered. There are ribbons you can put in something that's kind of along this lines and then you could do just, there's just murals, there's just a whole different slew of patterns you can choose from. What I recommend you do is to go down to your local tile shop, meet with the sales representative and just start getting ideas. They're trained in designing kitchens and bathrooms and they just always have a really good selection of tiles you can use. And that's how you would select a nice backsplash for your kitchen or for your bathroom.
