Welcome everyone. My name is Thanitra Pichedvanichok, otherwise known to my students as Chef T. I'm a personal chef, caterer, and culinary instructor at Tspoons, my boutique cooking school in Ladera Ranch, California. In this clip, we're going to clean an old baking pan. As you can see here, we have one of my old baking pans that's definitely seen its days. It has a lot of old built up residue and rust along the edges. What we're going to need to clean the baking pan is: a little bit of dish soap, a stainless steel cleaner such as barkeeper's friend, an abrasive sponge, and bilatex gloves. So first I'm going to put my sheet pan in the sink. I'm going to go ahead and put on my gloves since we're going to be working with our stainless steel cleaner here. And you can use any type of household steel cleaner that you prefer here. So what I'm going to do now is I'm going to go ahead and sprinkle in our cleaner directly into our pan. Make sure you get all the corners. Just sprinkle a generous amount. Now I'm going to add a little bit of water. Just warm water is fine. Just enough to create enough of a paste. I'm going to take my sponge and just kind of give it a good scrub. Make sure to work in all the corners, so that you get all of that old food and rust taken off there. OK. So that's looking pretty good. I'm actually going to sprinkle a little bit more of my cleaner in there, because now that I've worked it in in there, I'm going to let it soak for about thirty minutes in the stainless steel cleaner there. So I'm going to give it another generous pour of our cleaner. And we're going to sit actually for about thirty minutes, and we'll come back and check on it in a few. So now that it's been about thirty minutes that we've had our sheet pan soaking in the stainless steel cleaner there, we're going to go ahead and take our sponge and give it a good scrub. So by now it should be pretty simple to scrub away all of the corners and sides here, get it nice and clean. Because that's the area that we really needed to focus on there. OK, looking pretty good. So now I'm going to go ahead and rinse it out. It's almost sparkling clean. We're just going to have to do one more thing, and that is to go ahead and add a little bid of dish soap into our pan. We're now going to give it a good soapy water sponge cleaning there. And give it a good scrub again. And now rinse it off. And your sheet pan should be sparkling new now. Let's take a look. OK. I think it's looking quite good. So we have a nice, shiny, almost new sheet pan again, and that's how you clean your old baking sheets.
