Hi my name is Linda DiSimone, decorator and designer and I am here to tell you how to measure your sliding glass door for drapes. The materials you will need for this are a tape measure, and paper and pencil. The first step is to measure the width of the rod that's mounted on the window and write it down. Do not include the end caps or any other decorative part of the rod except for the rod itself. If you want full draperies, you might want to double the number that you came up with and buy extra panels. If not you can just add 8 to 12 inches to the width of the curtain. This will add additional coverage on the sides. For the length measure from the center of the existing rod to the floor. Subtract 1 inch from the length so that the drapes don't drag on the floor. And I'm Linda DiSimone and that's how to measure a sliding glass door for drapes.
