Hello. I'm Sue Walker, and I'm going to show you how to prepare filet mignon. You will need: a broiling pan, an oven, tongs, cooking spray, and toothpicks soaked in water. One of the best ways to prepare filet mignon is to wrap the filets in bacon. The key to a good filet mignon is to cook with high heat. Sprinkle the steak with salt and freshly ground pepper on both sides. Use the amount that suits you. Then take a bacon strip and wrap it around the steak. Secure with a water-soaked toothpick. Now brush the steaks with olive oil. Place the steaks on the broiler pan and place in the oven. Broil until desired doneness. Make sure to flip the steaks over with the tongs halfway through the cooking process. For a one and a half-inch thick steak, cook two to three minutes on each side for rare, four to five minutes on each side for medium, and six to seven minutes on each side for well done. And that is how to prepare filet mignon.
