"How to dress for an evening wedding. Evening weddings are dependent upon what the invitations says. Some invitations can say that it is a semi-formal evening wedding. If that is the case men are required to wear a suit, and tie. Usually a black suit or a navy blue suit, dressy shoes. And the woman is usually required to wear a nice dress. Usually tea length meaning right below the knee or a cocktail length. It is to be a dressier dress. Sometimes if it is an outside night time evening then you have to kind of go by the weather. Anything that is off the shoulder, but dressy is which is much more appropriate. If it is a formal evening wedding then men are usually required to wear tuxedos. It does not have to be tails, but as long as it is the dinner jacket length I think it is called. Women once again are required to wear a more formal gown. Usually like the silk or the taffeta gowns that are evening gown length or cocktail length. Also keep in mind if it is a formal long gown that you are wearing to choose a color other than white since the bride is going to be wearing white. We want the bride to stand out so choose you color wisely. If it is winter wedding, and it is an evening wedding then you definitely want to be dressed appropriately warm wise. Make sure you have an appropriate wrap to put over your dressy attire. And that is how you would dress for an evening wedding."
