Hi my name is Paul Louis. I am a professional puppeteer living here in Miami, Florida. Today I'm going to show you a quick and simple way to create a sock puppet. You are going to need a sock obviously. You are going to put it on your hand like this and the heel part is going to be where your knuckles are. You are going to take the excess of the sock, about two inches or three inches from the ends of your fingers and you are going to stuff it inside your hand like that so that you create this type of effect. Once it's all in place you're going to take these sides and sew here and here. You are going to snip off the excess thread. The next thing you'll want to do is maybe glue in a little tongue inside the mouth so you can take a little piece of red rubber like this and cut it into a heart shape and if you want to get fancy you can put a little line down the center and then take a little bit of hot glue and dab it on the end and you're going to stick it inside the puppet's mouth. Be real careful not to burn yourself. Hot glue is hot, hence the name hot glue. The next thing you want to do is put on the nose so you're going to take a pom pom like this and stick it right on the end, stick it right about there. We're going to use hot glue to do that so let me take the puppet off, dab a little hot glue on the end there and stick it right on the end of our puppet. Now you definitely need some eyes for this character and I like to use little Velcro adhesive tabs like this and basically you just peel them off the paper, stick them where you want on your puppet. I'll put mine kind of like this. Now you might want to put some hair right on the top of this puppet's head so I like to use a little bit of boa and I've cut a little piece like this and I've put a little bit of hot glue on the top of the part that was resting on top of your knuckles. You don't want to put the hot glue on when you have the puppet on your hand because obviously you will burn yourself and just remove any excess glue that might be lying about. Now our puppet here is looking kind of interesting and I'm thinking that it looks kind of like a dog without ears so why don't we put some ears. You can get some more boa like that and put it on the sides of our puppet. So what I'm going to do is I've found my spot where I want the ear on one side. I'm going to put some hot glue right there and then making sure that the puppet is not on my hand when I do that and I'm going to do the same thing on the other side, right over there. So as you can see with a little bit of ingenuity and the right materials you can come up with a really nice little sock puppet in just a matter of minutes. This is Paul Louis. Thank you for watching.
