"Hi I'm Jan. Today we're going to talk about how to crochet flowers. There's a lot of different styles of flowers that you can make out there. Today I'm going to show you how to create this cute little rosebud. To start the flower chain 17 chains. Now that I have 17 chains I'm going to do a double crochet in the 5th chain from the hook. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. So a double crochet. You wrap the yarn around, go into the stitch, pull it up, go through two, go through two. Chain 1 and double crochet again in the same stitch. Chain 1, skip 1 chain and do that again. Make a double crochet into the chain. Chain 1 and a double crochet again into the same stitch. Chain 1, skip 1. Double crochet into the chain. Chain 1, double crochet into the same stitch. Chain 1, skip 1 chain. Do a double crochet. Chain 1, double crochet. We're creating 6 of these little V sections going all the way across. Chain 1, skip 1. Double crochet. Chain 1, double crochet. Chain 1, skip 1 stitch. Double crochet. Chain 1, double crochet again into the same stitch. Chain 1 and now do that again in the very last chain. Double crochet. Chain 1 and double crochet into the last stitch. There's what our first row looks like. Now to do the second row and finish it off, chain 3. 1, 2, 3. Turn it around and into this first chain 1 space I'm going to work 5 double crochets. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Now our chain 3 counted as our first double crochet so in each chain 1 space you're going to work 6 double crochets all the way across. When you're all done your piece looks like this. There's all your five double crochets that are in each of those sections. So starting with the last single crochet stitch, roll it to form the bud. Fasten the ends off and attach it to your sweater or your hat or your purse, any place you like. I'm Jan and those are my ideas for crocheting flowers."
