"Have you ever wondered the tips necessary to become a firefighter. I'm Captain Joe Bruni and what I'm going to talk about is some very point specific tips on becoming a firefighter. First and foremost firefighters must be in very good physical and mental shape. Physical conditioning is of the up most importance. You will have to take some type of physical testing just to enter the process o applying for the fire academy or becoming a firefighter. Rigorous strength tests and physical tests will be required just to enter the program. You must also keep in good physical condition. A constant routine of cardiovascular exercise and weight training are absolutely necessary to stay in top physical condition not only prior to becoming a firefighter, but throughout your career as a firefighter. Also keeping your background as clean as possible is absolutely necessary. Fire departments want people in society of good character and high standards. If you have drug use in your background or crime involved in your background you will not be considered for employment as a firefighter. A very intensive thorough background check will be completed and during the application process, many fire departments use a polygraph exam to determine whether you are telling the truth during the application process. Those are the two key components and tips that I could recommend as a career firefighter in the application process and tips to becoming a firefighter.
