"Hello again this is Oscar Moreno with Moreno Custom Home Visions and today we are going to teach you guys how to split and strip wire. Basically the tools you are going to need are just a pair of wire strippers just like these guys and a utility knife. Basically all you want to do on your wire is you are going to get your utility knife and this is a little tricky but all you have to do is put one side of the blade next to your wire and put your thumb across the blade and in a circular motion run the blade in a circle. By doing that you will be cutting just the exterior wire. Once you have got that taken care of you can pull the sheet right off which would be exposing the next set of wires and here is what you are going to use your wire strippers for. Always your ground wire always comes ready to go for you. So then all you are going to need is just kind of do the same motion. Since this is about 10 gage wire you are going to locate on your wire strippers, your 10 gage, all you have to do is squeeze, give it a little quarter turn, and pull right off and there you go. One more time, we're going to go ahead and squeeze, give little quarter turns and it pops right off. One more time, squeeze there and these guys pop right off and there you go you have cut spliced wire."
