"Hello, my name's Oscar Moreno with Moreno Custom Home Visions and today we're going to teach you guys how to troubleshoot electrical problems in your home. Basically, what I'm going to be teaching you guys today is just your basic problems you guys have at home and real simple ways to determine whether you have power or not. All you're really going to need is your voltage detector that I have here, which it tells you, it beeps at you when there is a current and it won't beep at you when there's no current. One of the things that I want to let you guys know is on your light fixtures, you can, real easily, flip your switch on, use your voltage tester and insert it inside the socket. If this guys starts yelling at you or beeping at you, therefore there is electricity present so you can just replace the light bulb, real simple fix right there. Another thing is your outlets. You don't have a power in an outlet, use your voltage tester, check and see if you have power there, if you have power there and you still can't get your appliances on, you need to replace that receptacle, obviously, somethings wrong. If that still doesn't work, then you might have to call your electrician for that, your handy man. Another one that I can tell you guys, is real common, is, for instance, all your outlets outside your house don't work and you still don't have any power in your garage, one of these, on the new homes, you're going to find is a main GFCI outlet in your garage, which, basically, you can easily push and reset it again, that usually works and resets power on your outside outlets again or inside your garage. It's usually controlled by just one GFCI downstairs, maybe two, in that case, it just depends on the square footage of your home. Another way to test and see, if you guys don't have any power in your outlets and your volt meter is not picking up any power, check your breaker box. That's another thing you can look at, make sure all your breakers are on, always double check them because sometimes breakers won't indicate to you that they're tripped, they'll be moved slightly but you really need to go ahead and double check but make sure they're on and they're off, double click them, therefore, you're certain. Basically, you guys, that is all I can tell you guys on your basic home, what to check for. This is going to be your best friend, your voltage tester, that will help you determine whether you have power or not. If you still can't find a problem, a solution, why you still don't have power in certain places, like I said, call your local handy man or your electrician and they'll take care of you guys. That's how you troubleshoot electrical problems in your home."
