"Okay, hi, I'm Tim Gipson and I'm going to show you how to measure hardware for hardware for either a drawer or your cabinets. Now, if we look first at this door, you can see we've got single pull. Now this is pretty easy 'cause if you just want to replace this hardware, all of the holes for hardware is pretty much standard so you don't have to worry about the size of the hole. So it's simply is just getting your single knob. And replacing this. Okay, so that's no big deal right there. Now where you run into where you got to do some measuring is when you look at this drawer, okay, in this particular - the pull handles are a double mount hole. Now when we're measuring this, it's very important, you don't want to necessarily measure the hardware here, okay. What you want to measure is you want to measure the actual holes. And it's a good idea to have a piece of paper to mark this down, and as best you can, what you want to do is you want to measure from what we call the centerline of the hole to centerline. So if I measure this I've got two and a half inches. So again, measuring from centerline to centerline I get two and a half inches. And that way I know when I go out and I look at replacement hardware for this, that I've got to get hardware that has a two and a half inch centerline to centerline dimension. And that'll be very important. The other thing to consider is also the depth of your existing hardwares. So if we're replacing this, there is going to be some outline wear on this, so we want to get something similar or at least a place that has a background piece that is at least two inches by three and a half inches in this case. So that's something to consider when you do replace your hardware. So I'm Tim Gipson and that is how to measure for cabinet hardware."
