"Hi, I'm James with JNC Home Repair. Today I'm going to show you how to choose your water heater. First thing you want to consider when you're replacing your water heater, or you want to update your water heater is the energy efficiency of it. You also want to consider if it's rated for enough gallons. You don't want to have a smaller water heater and it won't be able to cool, it won't be able to heat the water on the back side of the house. So, you want to make sure that you always go back in with the same kind of water heater that you have, or at least a little bit bigger one. Another thing is the BTU's. You can, there's a setting there where you can adjust that too. And there's a couple of other things to consider as far as just the capacity and the BTU's. That's the basic ways you want to choose your water heater. Also, if it's not up to date as far as codes, you're local building regulations and codes, that may factor in on which water heater you decide to choose as well."
