"As I said when we were discussing the materials, you can use odds and ends and maybe even streamers that you might have around the house. This is all scrap tissue paper that we've had left over from other projects in the studio, however, if you have the actual tissue paper around, I think that this is a great time to talk to your kids about warm and cool colors, and choosing their colors for their butterfly in advance so that they have a plan of maybe a little bit of a design on how they want the butterfly to look. If they're choosing cool colors, they're going to be choosing blues, purples, greens. For warmer colors, they're going to be choosing those reds and pinks and yellows and oranges. So, have them set out, look through the colors, identify the colors, and identify them as cool or warm colors, set them aside, and maybe they even want to do some sort of a rainbow approach to their butterfly. All this is ok, this is a great time to express individuality and creativity, imagination, anything goes, but let them know what their choices are. We can also do a mix where we do the top part in either warm colors and the bottom part in cool colors."
