"What I'm getting ready to show you now is how to do a single crochet over a rubber band to kind of give you a low profile hair tie. Just a little bit of different color and it stands out just a little bit more. So what we're going to do is we're going to take our yarn and we're going to start it. You take the end of the yarn and you're going to wrap it around your finger and you're going to get this nice little pretzel shape. And you're going to go over the outside and go under to grab this yarn right here and hold onto it, then pull and you see we have our first loop. So keep this loop on your needle. Then you're going to pick up a rubber band. And I like to use the metal ones because they kind of give me a starting point. And so what we're going to do is we're going to wrap our yarn around it, then grab it with our hook to where we've got two loops on our needle and it's wrapped underneath our rubber band and you're going to pull it through just like that. And just kind of pull it all the way tight because you really want to hide all of this rubber band that's underneath there. And now we've got this connected to our rubber band. And all we're going to do is we're just going to keep pulling the yarn underneath the rubber band and then bringing your two loops together like so. You see how it's just directly covering up the rubber band. So again, just go under, then you've got two loops on your needle. And you're just going to pull some yarn through both of them and pull it tight. And there we go. You're just going to continue this all the way around. And just make sure as you're going you're checking your work and not leaving any space in between there."
