Series Summary

Every February, men, women and children of all ages prepare for the holiday that involves gift giving, chocolate, carefully designed cards and love: Valentine's Day. Though the holiday itself has a long and torrid history starting somewhere around the beginning of the 19th century, Americans enjoy a version of the holiday that focuses more on gifts and expressions of love than on the religious or more traditional aspects associated with the day. Men woo their ladies with cards, flowers, and various other presents while children typically partake in less expensive versions of expression at school. Through this sort of exchange, kids can learn about giving, sharing, expressing love and thanks as well as picking up a few neat arts and crafts skills along the way. Construction paper, scissors and some markers are about all your kids need to make homemade cards for their friends and family members. What if you're not in love? Then you probably don't want to sit around and celebrate with a bunch of cuddling couples in a room full of candles and carnations. Well, single person, that is exactly why Anti-Valentine's Day, or Singles Awareness Day, parties are becoming more popular and more fun every year. This free events video series will show you how to throw an Anti-Valentines Day party. It will go over everything you'll need to know: decorations, your guest list, the food, even the music.
