"Hi, this is Jon, and in this clip we will be choosing materials. Now we're going to be using a birch material here. The existing wood work where this project is going, is this kind of wide grain birch, and so this is a good choice that will match what we currently have. Now we've also purchased these birch pegs and birch buttons. Once we assemble our project, it's going to make it a lot easier, rather than having to make these items, you can pick them up at your local home store, and they will fit the project real nicely. For the amount of material that we're going to need; our base plate board will be 48 inches by 6 inches. Now our top plate board, we're going to have an inch lip on every end. So that top plate is going to be 46 inches by 4 inches. We're also going to want 6 pegs. Now again those pegs that we install are going to be used as our coat hook, and the buttons are actually going to cover up the screws that is going to mount our coat rack to the wall. "
