How to Make Your Own Aladdin Costume

"To correspond with the belly dancers sometimes we do Aladdin or Genie and Aladdin. There are things you can do like a simple little vest with like a turban or a fez. And you want to do harem pants with this. And harem pants we have a tons of different kinds. And you might do something like these guys and you sash this with a little vest, taking again your turban or a fez. Might do wisk cuffs on this. So there's a few different ways to do them. But this is the basic idea for an Aladdin. And we have several versions of the pants. There's all different kinds of materials, several versions of the vest. Some of them are real vests that are embroidered in velvet kind of fun. Lets hang this over here. This one was actually a gift to me and this came from Morocco. And that's the back of it. And you can see the use of the gold tripantones in the mirrors, they were actually pearls on here at one time but someone had it cleaned at the wrong cleaners and they melted. But you can see how elaborate this is. And this is typical of what you are going to find in middle eastern costumes. It's a lot of beautiful work."
