Hi I'm Rachel Yatuzis and I'm going to teach you about removing rust from silverware. Silver gets tarnished really easily if it's not kept airtight or if it is not in contact with human skin. It's really strange but people that have nice silverware that you have actually taken out of the package you are going to have to polish it. If you only use it once a year you are going to have to clean it or polish it every time you use it, you know so this is a quick and easy and even really fun way to clean silverware. If you have kids it's a great science project because it is all abut the chemistry of the ingredients. It only takes three ingredients. You need an aluminum pan to place your silverware in, then you want to sprinkle baking soda just a little bit on the silverware. You may want to flip it over and get the other side too because this is all about chemistry. This is a science lesson in housekeeping. Have a pot of boiling water or a kettle of boiling water on the stove. Once your water is boiling, pour it over your silver. You'll hear it fizz and you'll see it bubble. It's really cool and once you have done that you want to be able to flip over the silverware and move it around because each surface that actually touches the aluminum is going to look brand new so grab an extra utensil that you are not cleaning and use it to turn these around. You obviously don't want to stick your hand in this really hot water. Once every surface has come in contact with your silver they'll look brand new. As far as the cracks and crevices you might want to make a paste with baking soda and water to scrub all the little details but this is a really fun way to do it. It does have a bad odor though.
