"Hi I'm Rachel Yatuzis and I'm going to show you some stain removal methods. It really depends on what kind of stain you have and you may want to research the best way to remove that type of stain, but I'll show you a couple right here and how. If you have a let's say here's a black ink stain, you want to use the same method for black ink, permanent market, dry erase market, any kind of ink, rubbing alcohol or hairspray is the best way to get it out. The alcohol in the hairspray and the alcohol itself really break down the ink. So use these, spray them on there, you may want to work it in a little bit, depending on how strong the material is, you may be able to rub it or you may just have to blot it. And after you've done that, wash the material as usual. If you don't think that it got out when you're taking it from the washer to the dryer, try to repeat this a couple of times before you dry it because a lot of times when you dry material the stain is stuck. If you have an oil stain on a material, you want to use some sort of powder to soak it up first. So sprinkle a little bit of powder onto the oil, work it in with a toothbrush and you will see the powder start to ball up. Keep adding the powder until you think that the powder is soaked up all the oil that it possibly can. After that, spray it with some commercial laundry stain remover or you can try using the alcohol, in this case also, and then wash it as usual. If you have something that's silk, you want to try to keep from getting water on it if possible and it's a little more of a delicate material so you want to be careful with silk. And if you have something with a really bad odor like a fuel odor in it, when you put it in the washing machine and you turn the washing machine on, dump some vinegar in there and let it sit in the water before it starts agitating and if you let it sit for about 10 or 15 minutes with vinegar and water, it'll get rid of the smell.
