Summary: Learn how to properly and safely store a scroll saw in this free educational video series.
"Hi, I'm Ed Reyes with Master Builders here in Tampa, Florida on behalf of Expert Village. I am going to teach you the proper use of a scroll saw. So when you are through making the project that you wanted to do and you are done for the day with this thing, first thing you want to do is unplug it and make sure that it is off, unplug the unit and wrap the cord through here, is how we store it. The next thing we do is we will loosen up these handles so that the unit comes loose. Never ever carry the unit from this point. This blade will move up and down manually and it will damage your finger or injure you. You want stay away from this area. Carrying it, storing it or having anything around it, you want to stay away from this area because this is the area that does all the work. We recommend that you carry it from this point so you would just raise it up here and carry it at this level. It is very top heavy on your side so you want to balance it. It is not a very heavy unit but it is bulky so I recommend you carrying it from the bottom and here. Always store it flat, never lay it on the side, be careful not to put things on top of this that will damage it. This has a mechanism that runs all the way through to here. If you damage this mechanism, you pretty much have to disassembly the whole unit to replace that piece. So it is very very important that when you store this unit that you be very careful with this section. "
