"Hi, my name is Marti. On behalf of expertvillage.com, I'm going to show you how to iron a pair of cotton pants today with pleats. Pockets are sometimes are, a second thought have you ever seen anybody who has maybe shorts or pants on and there pockets are grumped up. That doesn't make a nice finish on here, this just helps ensure that it's smooth and it will lay flat. The steam helps to relax the cotton fibers so that we can put them in the direction that we want them to be in and once the pants has cooled, but helps to set the cotton. Now that we have all of our pockets ironed and our waistband is ironed, we need to check our zipper or the fly. Make sure it's in good shape. This is an area that sometimes it will tend to buckle or pucker on you. If you keep it ironed and pressed, it will give it a much nicer shape."
