on 10/15/2008 It would be helpful if the video segments were listed with numbers first then the title after so that you could play them in order. Since I don't know much about quilting and have know idea which step goes first then second and so on.....

on 8/2/2008 I'm confused! I thought this video series was going to take me through making a quilt one step at a time. It doesn't! After cutting the fabric Shelly is suddenly seen with most of the quilt top sewn together and she is showing you how to connect the ends of a border? or binding?, I don't which it is and how did she get to this point? The last I saw were pieces of cut fabric. Oh, and she didn't show you cutting each piece of fabric. She just assumes that she can say cut this and this and this and you'll get it. That means I have to read the transcript which is the same as buying a beginner's book. I was looking for a video so I could see all the steps of the quilt being made, not just a partial step and then jumping several steps to the next thing Shelly thinks you might need help with. I kept going back and looking to see if I missed the order of the video clips and I hadn't. I do like the titles of the different clips because if I get to a certain point and I am stuck or it doesn't turn out right, I can see if there might be a video clip to show me where I went wrong.

on 8/2/2008 Shelly repeatedly says "binding" when she means borders. Lots of "B" words in quiltmaking.

on 4/27/2009 all the videos are not in order and that's very confusing for a beginner, i think they should make it in 1 or 2 videos only.

Video Transcript

" Hi! My name is Shelly Cordsen with Expert Village.com. We are now going to begin our beginner’s baby quilt and as usual, we always want to see the finished product first. So you can know what you are working toward and this is what we will be making and it is baby quilt, center, and three borders. Okay. The fun part is always choosing your fabrics. These are the fabrics I have chosen; my center, my first border, second, third and then I got my binding and this will be my backing; this will make a very fun little boys quilt. The fabric requirements for this quilt are as follows: One fat quarter which is your 18/22 for your center, one fat quarter will be enough for your first border. You need 15” of your 44 wide fabric for binding one, I mean two, three and for binding also 15” that ought to be easy to remember 15” and then for backing 1 yard of your 44 wide fabric and for batting which is our stuffing in the middle, I prefer for baby blankets to use a low loft batting. They have got a high loft, low loft, a warm and natural. You can do a whole class on nothing but batting but for baby quilts, I prefer the nice soft low loft and you can find this in any fabric department. Now you are ready to start cutting."
