" Hostess: So I'm back here with Ann Richmond form Earth 911 and we want to talk about lighting for the home. So can you give us some tips and reminders on how we can conserve electricty? Ann: Sure, I think one of the easiest things for people to do as far as conserving energy is just turning off the lights. So if you are not in a room for an extended period of time, as you walkout turn it out. I realized it's a challenge for kids and adults sometimes, but its a very important thing to conserve energy. Also, it adds to the heat of the house as well. One thing to keep in mind. If you've got the older incandescent light blulbs, those can now be replaced by new Compact Fluorescent Light bulbs called CFL's. Which are much more energy efficient. Incandescents basically don't last as long. They're a litle less expensive but they don't last on the long term. Hostess: Will this save me money? Ann: Oh yes! It's a little bit more expensive initially, but is can last up to 5 years. Hostess: Great Ann: It will save you about $30.00 on your electric bill. Hostess: It does the same effect. Anne: Exactly Hostess: How easy is it to install? Ann: Well, why don't ou give it a try. Hostess: All right. Ann: You can take out that one and put this one in too. Hostess: Are you sure? Now when I think of electricity, we've all had our fathers tell us as we were growing up "turn off the light!". Ann: Turn off the lights. Hostess: So its the same idea. Anybody can do this. Ann: (Laughing) Sure, here I'll take that one."
