"Hi today we're going to make hand felted scarves. First I want to go over the materials that you're going to need. I'm working on a tray like this. This is a boot tray that you can get at any hardware store. It catches the water but if you're working somewhere like your kitchen counter you don't need a tray like this. The other thing you need is some wool. I like to work with merino wool. It's a specific breed of sheep. But it's the softest wool that you can find. And it's really nice against your skin. If you can find merino wool it's great. It felts really easily. You can get it in a bat like this, which is a nice sheet, that saves you some time. Or you can get it in a roping form which is these long ropes that are designed for hand spinners. You can get these on the Internet. A bunch of different places. You can sometimes find them locally. But if you can you're very lucky. I also use bubble wrap. Bubble wrap is the amazing tool for felters but it's used to keep your felt together until you are getting a solid sheet of felt so we'll be working with bubble wrap. We also use soap. I use regular old dish soap. I keep it in my handy dandy dispenser. And we're also going to use some hot water. The hotter the water the faster the felting with go. But obviously you don't want it so hot you're going to burn yourself because you're going to have your hands in it. And I'm also going to use some knee highs to help me keep my bubble wrap scarf together when I'm working with it. So those are the materials that you're going to need to make your hand felted scarf."
