"Hi! I’m Jennifer on behalf of expertvillage.com. A Perfect Fit Alterations, 102 S. Main Street, Burleson, Texas, 817-447-3522. In this segment we’re going to talk about bias tape, seam binding and two different types of seam binding. On the bias tape, you can use the bias tape for a variety of different things and you can also use it for seam binding as well. The bias tape can be used for accent trims around coats, purses, things or that nature and it can also be used in place of a serger to put on the seams to hold the seams together especially for fabrics that pull apart quite easily at the seams, it’s a very useful tool. We have stretch lace seam binding, you can also use this for decorative but it works very well on the bottom of pant hems, once you’re finished making your pants to hem the bottom. This one can also be used in doing alterations when there’s not enough fabric in the hem, you would match the color as best you could and then add this to the hem to let down the hem to lengthen the pants.
