How to Pick a Stained Glass Sun Catcher Pattern

"On behalf of expertvillage.com, my name is Allison at Western Art Glass. I'm going to be talking about in this step is pattern step and how do you go from there cutting glass. First thing you need to do is you need to find a pattern. There is lots of pattern books available or you can create you own. So first thing first I like suns, moons, and stars so here we go sun, moon, and stars. The pattern that I'm going to go with is this sun catcher here and I did blow it up to be about that size. From there you need to get it a blown up size it is going to be in black and white. From there you need to take this pattern to the glass store or you need to make sure that you have enough glass to get to this size. So what you are going to do first get it all blown up. You need to number this so you need to go 1,2,3,4,5 number however you want to number it is fine. Don't forget to number the background as well. For this project I have what is called grain in my glass. So to make sure that it looks professional, you need to put grain marks on your pattern as well so when you put that on your glass you know which way this pieces goes on there. It may look easy now but when you get all these pieces cut apart it can be really confusing. So in all in all at the very end you are going to end up with this and your numbers. So get it numbered, grained mark and come to the next step and I will show you what to do from there. "
