How to Maintain a Budget for Your Home Office Expenses

"Hi this is Shana Bethune on behalf Expert Village. I'm going to talk to about budgeting your home office when you're working from home. It's really tempting to buy fancy furniture and all sorts of nice things. But you really have to consider the amount of money that you'll be spending on important things if you're working in a larger office. Chances are stuff like paper and pens and little things like that are all provided for you. But if you're working from home you have to provide these things for yourself and these things are much more important for your working environment than a really nice expensive chair. As you build your office you can spend more money on things that you want and spending money on things that you want is a great way to get yourself motivated. Try rewarding yourself for completing a specific goal by making a list of different things that you hope to buy and then each time you accomplish something you can buy yourself a reward. For example if you decide you can benefit by having a second computer monitor to work with rather than buying it immediately, set certain goals for yourself and having the computer monitor as a reward once you reached that goal. It's a great way to motivate yourself to work on a particular project, there's no sense of having a fancy expensive office if you're really not getting any work done in it. So first make sure that you're getting all the work done that you need to be getting done and then reward yourself afterwards."
