"Now I'm going to show you how to estimate about how much fabric you'll be using to cover your couch. I'm using a sixty inch width fabric so, and I want to purchase yards of fabric. You purchase the fabric by the yard. And so, I'm going to think in sixty inch by thirty-six inch blocks. So, first you'll want to take your tape measure and just measure your cushions. We're just doing a rough measurement to see how many yards of fabric we think we're going to use. And this cushion is twenty-six inches by twenty-five inches and we're going to need a piece of fabric that goes over the top, around the sides and on the bottom. So, I'm going to estimate that one yard of sixty inch by thirty-six inches, should be enough for one cushion plus a little extra. And the top cushions also will fit for a yard. If I'm just doing a very rough estimate, seeing will a yard of fabric cover this cushion. So, if I figure a yard for the top cushion, a yard for the bottom cushion and I have four cushions in all. This is a two-seater couch. If you have more cushions, then you'll add up more like that. I figure a yard and a yard and we're also going to be covering the back of the couch and the inside of the couch. So that also, if we're going all the way down, I have thirty, about thirty-odd inches, there. And the back of the couch is under sixty inches. So, I need a full yard for the back of the couch and a full yard for the inside of the couch here. And then you can choose to cover this inside part with the fabric that you're using, the upholstery. But if you're buying expensive fabric and you want to save a little bit of money, you could probably save a yard right here on the bottom, a yard or two yards, by using a coordinating fabric, not the expensive fabric. You'll need to see about how much you need here, maybe about another yard for the whole front area. And then measure over the arms going all the way. You want to measure the arms going all the way from inside all the way around. And I have sixty inches there by thirty-six inches there. So I would say an additional yard for each arm. And now, you can add that up."
