"Hi, this is Jon on behalf of Expert Village and in this video clip I will be talking about using extension cords. The cord provided with this particular model of tool is only about 8 feet long. Now in many applications, you are going to need to reach further distance to get to our source. To do this you are going to need an extension cord that is in good condition. The extension has to be heavy enough or thick enough to carry the current, distance the that you are going to travel and to figure this out, it is best to look into your User's Manuel and there should be a chart that will tell you what gage of cord for what distance you are going to be traveling. Now when you get your extension cord, you will want to check it over. Here the end is missing one of the prongs. Additionally this end has a bit of a electrical tape on it which tells me that at some point and time there was probably a problem with it and someone probably just did a quick fix. So you are going to want to get an extension cord that is fully working that doesn't pose any hazards. "
