Summary: Learn how to buy a laser line level that suits your home improvement needs in this free educational video series.
"Hi, this is Jon on behalf of Expert Village. In this video clip I'll be talking about some tips for buying a laser level. Here I have two different types of laser line levels. Now, each one does has its positives and negative points. On my first tool here, my laser button is covered and there is no openings that anything can get in. On my other laser line level the button is not covered and there is a small crevasse in there where dirt or debris, saw dust could buildup in there causing it hard to turn on or off. When buying a laser line level you also want to take a look at the material it's made out of. This one is made out of primarily plastic and this one is made of primarily metal. If you accidentally drop it off of a building when you're working, the plastic one would be a little bit more likely to crack apart or break than the metal one. On this level our bubble levels have a piece of plastic that is covering those bubble levels so if you dropped it or bumped it on something they would be less likely to break. On this tool we do not have those added plastic covers so this would be a little bit more prone to potentially breaking. You also want to take a look at the versatility of it, this laser we can swivel the head to give us different angles including a 45 degree angle which a lot of laser line levels don't offer you. You also want to see what type of lasers are provided with it. On our first one we have a straight laser that just goes straight across. Now, typically you're going to use this laser for most applications. However, with our other laser it gives us the option of having a single point laser and this could be a good benefit if you're using the laser for working out in the field as well as if you're trying to point something out."
