"Hi this is Jon on behalf of Expert Village in this video clip I'll be talking about caring for you chalk line. Now when the big key things when using your chalk line is that you want to take a look at the string that's attached to it and if you see any type of faze or if you see that the end here maybe the knots are coming loose, you want to make sure that you fix that right away. If the end breaks off or the string breaks and the end comes off when you reel it in it just going to keep going around inside of it and it will be almost impossible to set it back to where it was without fully disassembling the chalk line. Next you want to make sure and take good care of this return lever that's what's going to allow you to reel in your chalk line and if that breaks off or that becomes damaged in any way then your chalk line is pretty rendered useless. Now on all chalk lines we have this little hook at the end of it that's going to latch on to what we're marking our line from. Now you really want to take good care of that hook if that hook breaks off you can't latch it on anything and it's real hard to make a straight line then. So you want to make sure and keep that in good condition make sure it doesn't get bent or that can throw your line off just a little bit. You also want to make sure that your string is attached to the end of your hook if it is attached like it is on this one or the knot is slit down the side that's going to give you an accurate line when you go mark whatever your trying to mark. So you really want to keep it an eye on that and make sure that knot is right on the end."
