Removing a Polaris 180 Pool Cleaner Top

"ALLYN CHRISTOPHER: Okay. Now I got the float head and the tail off of this and we can now go ahead and take the top off. Which can be a fairly easy procedure simply because, again, one of the pieces that's broken or missing is the screw. So it's holding on. So all we're going to do is simply remove this top piece over here clearing the mast on one side and the hole on the other and we're going to set this aside. Now, we're really starting to get into the cleaner now. You can start to see where it really needs some repair. The bottom part here is pretty straightforward. All we're going to do is get our screwdriver in and start to take these pieces out. We could say that all the years they've spent in the pool that they use stainless steel which is a prudent move. Once it's out you can put these aside. I like to collect screws anyway so we'll do that. Now this, a wrap tie, specialty one for the water management system that just fell out, doesn't bode well for the cleaner, it's a good thing it's getting a rebuild kit. All right, we're just going to try to wiggle this bad boy out here, all this time in compression, there we go; that came out fairly easy. Maybe you'll decide to dissect some other pieces, so I'm just going to go put this on the side. All right. And yes, expect water and filth. Yeah, we'll tidy that up and get to that next."
