Series Summary

Valentine's day is the holiday that takes place every February 14th during which, traditionally, lovers express their love for each other. Often Valentine's Day cards, candy or flowers are sent, and red and pink hearts are used to decorate. Originally named for Christian martyrs named Valentine, the day became more about romantic love in the Middle ages when courtly love flourished. It has become a bit commercialized since the Middle ages though, and is now the second largest greeting card sending holiday of the year behind Christmas.

When making Valentine's Day plans, it's easy to get caught up in the commercial routine of it all. However, there's a few simple steps you can take to stand out, to make this romantic holiday special and specific to your loved one. In this free video series, you'll learn how to make special plans for Valentine's Day, from choosing aphrodisiac foods to set the mood to making "I appreciate you" books and "I love you" jars. This extra effort can go a long way towards progressing romance and revitalizing a relationship. Learn how to make love potions and indoor picnics, and let your loved one know how you feel!

Video Transcript

"Many aphrodisiac foods are considered so because of their shape, but asparagus actually is rich in vitamin E, which makes it an aphrodisiac for another reason, because vitamin E stimulates the production of our sex hormones, and may be essential for a healthy sex life. The heat in peppers comes from capsaicin. It stimulates our nerve endings, raises our pulse, and makes us sweat. Eating peppers may also release endorphins, your feel good chemical, which is conducive to love making. Chocolate has the added benefit of that sensual feeling of melting on your tongue, but it also releases endorphins when you eat it, and that's why it's the quintessential gift for lovers. Mint, if you eat it or smell it -here we have fresh mint- smelling fresh mint, or eating peppermint, or eating peppermint gum makes you more alert, and also makes you feel good, which is conducive to love making. Everything you see here is just what you need for a hot night."
