"Do you have some of these in your house? It's a shame for them to go to waste because they're so handy, just the right shape to put a little present inside, like a little lipstick, maybe some earrings. Now, I wouldn't save a bunch of these and use them for your corporate Christmas gifts or anything like that, but for a family member or a friend, toilet paper roll, totally works. I'm going to use a magazine ad for this one and I'm going to use the toilet paper roll to measure what I want. Using my scrapbook paper trimmer, you can use a ruler and a scissor, of course, give that a little slice there. And that, you can see that when I roll this up, I'm going to really see those eyes. Isn't that fun? It's a good way to wrap a present for my sister, now that I'm thinking about it. She's got sparkle plenty eyes. I'm going to fold this piece of tissue in half and cut along the fold so that I have an open end on both sides. I don't want to have just a folded end on one side. And I'm going to roll the toilet paper roll in this and, you know, if you have something larger, like a poster, to give, you can use the same technique using different, you know, larger piece of paper with a poster or mailing tube. You know a poster tube or a mailing tube. This same technique can be translated to any cylindrical shape. You can even wrap a vase or something like that in a circle of cardboard to make your own tube that's custom fit to match the item that you're wrapping. A little bit of tape will hold this in place for us and then we can add our magazine. Now we want to carefully select the end to roll so that we have the part that we want showing. This is kind of looking like, a little bit like an English Christmas cracker, back from, I don't know, maybe you could make your own Christmas crackers, that would be fun. I love the way this looks so far, but it just needs a little extra something and I'm going to use some black ribbon. I'm going to use curling ribbon, but this would also look really cute with a skinny, like a three sixteen inch or maybe a little bit wider grosgrain ribbon or a little bit of satin ribbon would be so pretty. I could also, instead of using black, match the color of her eyes, or some other color that coordinates with the wrap that we've chosen, or matches the tissue. I could also use a little bit of ribbon and then tie some serpentine on there if you wanted to give it as a going away present, sort of a bon voyage look. And now we're just going to tie these ends and just pull it slowly so it has a chance to gather, we don't want it to be kind of all wadded in one direction. I'm going to give it a second knot, sure that will make it harder to unwrap, but that's not your problem is it? Okay, nice and tight, a quick curl, I'm going to do a nice, big, loose curl on this and we're just going to pretend like we remembered to put the present inside. Okay, this is ready. Isn't that cute? I know this will really impress your friends. I hope you've enjoyed these new ideas on how to use things that you've had laying around your house feeling useless all this time. You'll see your recycling bin a whole new way and you can pretend like they're your ideas, you don't have to tell them that I told you. But I've enjoyed this time together and I'm Amy Snively, be sure to look for my other clips with other tips."
