Mounting Brackets for Installing Ceiling Fans

"Hello! My name is Adloph Ramirez from Tampa, Florida and on behalf of Expert Village, this is how to install a ceiling fan. Okay the next step after you ensure the inspection and make sure everything was all in working order and the boxes are all mounted correctly, the next thing you want to do is put the mounting bracket for your ceiling fan. Every bracket is going to be different depending on your ceiling fan. This one here is a fairly simple construction. What you want to do is install this onto the box, make sure you have long enough screws and make sure the screws are secured because this is the only thing that is going to be holding up your fan is this one mounting bracket. Also, be sure once you put the down rod in is a little notch on the ball of the down road. There is a little pin here and make sure that the notch is in the handle; the pin is in the notch to ensure that the thing won't spin on you once the fan is turned on. You install it simply by putting in the screws. Usually you can use the same screws that you removed from the top plate if they are long enough. If they are not long enough like this one is, we are going to go ahead and replace with a longer screw which I have one right here. Put the ball screws in. These are probably almost 2 inches long and as you can see, it is very secure. It is not going anywhere. It is just to support the heavy fan that we are about to put up here. "
