In this video clip, we will be putting trim on our shelves. After laying out and cutting out our shelves, I went ahead and made a piece of 3/4 inch by 3/4 inch trim. The next step we need to attach that trim on here so that this looks like it is one big solid oak piece of board. First we need to put a pretty amount of glue on our trim piece and make sure you spread that around so that it holds just a little bit better. Next we are going to flip that up and put it in place. Now when we clamp this down, we want to leave a little bit of a lip above and below our piece. The reason for this is that when it dries we can come back with our flush cut bit and trim that smooth to our plywood. Once it is clamped, we are going to come in a put a couple of pin nails just to hold it until the glue dries so that I can take my clamps off and move on to my next piece a little bit quicker. And lastly you want to make sure you come back and wipe off any excess glue. I went ahead and set my shelves up to let them dry. I have staggered them so that in case any glue accidentally oozes out, won't stick to the shelf on front of it. It is recommended that you leave the shelves dry for 24 hours before you use any type of machines on them.
