Video Transcript

"Hi! This is Jon on behalf of Expert Village. In this video clip, we will be rabbeting our back. I went ahead and flipped over my bookshelf so that the front is facing on the ground. Our rabbet cut is going to be going around the entire inside and what this will do is make a little groove in the boards so that we can put a sheet of plywood in and it will sit flush with the wall when we hang it up. The tools I am going to be using is a router with a 3/8 inch by 1/2 inch rabbeting bit. I've set the depth of my router to the thickness of my 1/4 inch sheet of plywood. Next I am just going to go around each side of my project creating that rabbet. Once we've cut out rabbet with the router, we need to come back and square up the corners and I am just using a chisel for that. "
