" Okay, this is Charles McMahon for Expert Village continuing on our project of repairing broken chairs. You can see on this one that this spindle has broken off and we are going to replace this with a dowel but first thing we have to do is drill out a new hole. Now this dowel is a little bit smaller than the bottom end of this dowel. It is about the same size as the top end; about 7/16 of an inch. This is a bit fatter, so what we are going to do is drill out a hole here, right through the end of the old dowel to make a hole that we can fit the dowel in. "
