"I'm Tom Shean and today on behalf of Expert Village I'm going to show you how to install a metal roof. Starting at the very first full course from the ridge, lay two panels simultaneously. The second course is used to accurately space the joints of the first. Top the panels until they nest. This is crucial to maintain tight fitting joints and patterns that will carry throughout the plane of the roof. Temporarily fasten the back of the top course to the top batten. Proceed to lay all full panels staggering the joints in adjacent courses. Each course it laid by proceeding the existing panel and tucking in the back of the panel under. To better facilitate this always leave two courses of panels loose then reach back and fasten the third course. The pattern on each of these panels is comprised of five equal patterns 9 1/2 inches each. This allows for multiple join offsets in adjoining rolls. Panel joints should be offset two patterns. Ideally start your first continental panel 12 1/2 inches from the left gable. This will place your bins in the valley of the profile. The starting point for the shadowline panel is 16 1/2 inches which will place your bins centered on the flat exposure. On a gable to gable installation, adjust this to balance the pattern in each gable. For hips or valley sections start your full panel installation a maximum a 4 1/2 inches from the closest point. The above will ensure you're handling practical sized cut pieces. The panels only lap right over left, but panels may be laid left to right by lifting and tucking under."
