There are many different games that can be played that don't require a board or moving pieces by rolling dice. If there's one thing that can bring a family together or bring a party to life it's a good community game. Have you ever been to a party with people that found it difficult to socialize? Maybe it's a group that is not very familiar with each other and are timid to come out of their shells. Maybe there is a lull in the conversation and the group is looking for a topic change.

In this free video series you will learn several game ideas that don't involve a board, dice or cards and can be played by any group virtually anywhere. They can give you and your group or party hours of entertainment and possibly help you design your own game to play in the future. There are no rules to what you can come up with. Each video walks you step by step through the rules and details of each game designed by our professional party planner, Brenda Borg.

Video Transcript

"Hi! This is Brenda. Today we are working on our icebreaker games. Now this is a game that children have always loved to play; and you probably remember it is called charades. In this game you bring someone up to the front of the group, and they cannot use any words. They have to just motion for what they are trying to describe to you. If it is a movie, they would like this. If it is a book they would do like this. They would tell how many words. Say they would hold up three fingers for three words. So I am going to give you for instance. It is kind of like a mime, I guess you would say that you just do not make any sounds. So say for example, I am going to do this, that means it is a movie, two words then I would begin and of course, I would not be talking and I will be going…bedtime, dream, sky, star, shooting, fight, battle, war. Star Wars. Good, he got it, Star Wars and there you just continue and it is just lots of fun."
