Bridal showers have become a class-negligent tradition for women in the United States and Canada over the years. Beginning as early as the 1890's, "shower parties" celebrate a marriage and bring the bride-to-be together with friends and family to socialize and gift-give before the wedding. Traditionally, the bridesmaids plan the event, and the festivities usually include a selection of games or activities for the group to engage in together. In this free video clip series, our expert discusses a wide variety of games party planners can employ at bridal showers. Dress-up games, cake games, paper and question games, as well as tips and ideas for gift-giving are included.
"Hi! This is Brenda and today we are working on our bridal shower game. This is a fun game to involve the bride in and for the guest to watch and have a few last laughs too. When the guests arrive, have them sit in a circle so they can watch the bride and have her sit at the chair with a little table like this with a bowl, spoons, sugars, some oil, some flour, some eggs and whatever other ingredients you would like for her to make a cake with and tell her today she is going to be making a wedding cake. The only secret is though she cannot use a recipe she has to do it all from her head. So give her the bowl and spoon and just let her go to town. Now if she needs some items like may be some more eggs and have one of the bridesmaids go in and get that from the kitchen or whatever item she needs, just be at her disposal to go and get it. Bake the cake and at the end of the shower, let everyone taste it and see what it tastes like."
