Hi, this is Chris Burke, better known as Mr. Faux. And today we are going to talk about how to do venetian faux painting. Materials you'll need are painter's tape, venetian plaster, a trowel, venetian plaster topcoat, putty knife and 600 grit sandpaper. Before you begin make sure you tape off all the edges in the room you will be painting. This is to ensure that you will have a clean and perfect lines. Make sure the walls have an eggshell base coat. Next you dip your putty knife into the venetian plaster. Transfer some to the edge of the trowel. Apply the venetian plaster with a trowel to the entire wall. Let the plaster dry for two hours. Repeat the process and let dry again. Once the plaster is completely dry you will then lightly sand the entire surface with 600 grit sandpaper. Wipe the dust off the surface. Now we are ready to apply the topcoat. Dab your putty knife into the venetian plaster topcoat and transfer it to the edge of the trowel. Trowel the entire surface. Let the wall dry, pull the tape and you have a masterpiece. This is Chris Burke, better known as Mr. Faux. And today I showed you how to do venetian faux painting.
