Hi, my name is Christina. And this is how to make a kid's prince cape. There are lots of different materials that you can use. But felt is a great no sew option for your prince cape. For this project we're going to be using felt, ribbon, a large straight edge scissors and a glue gun. First, I'm going to be using a piece of felt that's approximately three feet by two feet. The felt can be whatever color you choose. I have a piece of grey felt here. First I'm going to fold the felt in half and smooth it flat. Next using my scissors I'm going to be cutting an arch on the length side of the felt. Going up about six inches I'm just going to round the corner. Next using our straight edge I'm going to lay out an angle so that I can cut it. The size of the neck is going to be completely depending on the size of your child. The small area here is going to be our neck. We're going to come out about six inches from the folded edge of the fabric. Using a marker or a piece of chalk I'm going to draw a line along my straight edge. Next I'm going to cut it. Next on our narrow end which is the neck I'm going to cut a slight curve coming down approximately an inch and a half to two inches. Now taking our yellow felt I'm going to lay our cape on top. I'm going to use it as a template. The yellow felt has to follow the curve of our cape otherwise it won't lay flat. Now I'm going to free hand cut it so that we have a curved strip. Now before I put all the felt away I'm going to cut out two small tabs. They are the same width as our curved piece of fabric. Next we're going to take a length of ribbon and cut it in half so that we have two pieces of ribbon. What this is going to be is the color of our cape. Next using our glue gun we're going to glue the collar down to the top neckline of our cape. To finish off our cape and to add the ties we're going to put some glue right on this the edge of the yellow tab. Place our ribbon down and then place our yellow tab on top of the collar. Now do the exact same thing to the other side. And now your cape is finished. Making your own prince cape is not only fun but being able to do it yourself ensures that you can get exactly what you want. Thanks for watching.
