Hi, my name is Christina, and this is how to make a picture of a snail with your handprint. Using paint and construction paper we'll be showing children how to make a snail out of their handprint and how one object can look like another object. For this project, we'll be using paper, two different colors of paint, a marker, paintbrush, a jar of water, and paper towel. We'll also be using a paper plate as our palette. First using a paintbrush I'm going to cover my thumb with the red paint. Rinsing out your paintbrush and drying it, next using our second color of paint we're going to paint the palm of our hand. Not our fingers just our palms. Now with your hand painted pick a place on the paper where you want your snail to be. Then gently but firmly lay your hand down pressing it onto the paper without wiggling it. Using our free hand to hold the paper down we're going to slowly pull our hand off the paper leaving behind the shape of the snail. Before you can go any further the paint has to dry. Once your snail is dry you are free to use your imagination to decorate it however you'd like. Now your snail is finished. This is such a fun way especially for children, they experiment with paint, their hands and different mediums. Thanks for watching.
