Hi, this is Jamila Watson from Parties On Purpose, and this is how to decorate little girls’ flip flops. Decorating flip flops has always been a huge hit at birthday parties, Girl Scout meetings, and BFF get-togethers. It’s a fun and simple craft, and it also doubles as a party favor. Little girls love to decorate flip flops, so when I do birthday parties, I like to create a station that’s very welcoming and very organized. So, first of all, I have a basket that has all of the flip flops needed for the birthday girl and her guests. And, I also like to have a pair of flip flops already presented and pre-done ahead of time. So, this is one that I did ahead of time, and this kind of gives the girls an idea of how their design can go, and how their flip flops can look. So, I’m going to show you right now how we put this together. First of all, what you want to do is make sure that your strips are six inches, and I like to also to cut mine on an angle – kind of gives it a really nice design. You want to take your flip flop, you want to start right at the center front, and just do your basic knot, just like this. For my flip flops, I use six ribbons on each side, with a total of 12 per shoe. Total all together for the pair is 24. So, if you have six guests over, what you want to do is make sure that you have 144 strips. Now, as a party planner I always make sure that I have a little bit more just in case we have some girls that want to add more decorations. So, here I tied this one just like this. What you want to do is make sure that your ribbons are going in different directions. So, I’m going to go ahead, I’m going to tie another one just like this. And, for this one too, anything that’s a little thinner, I like to kind of put a double knot in there like this. When you’re done, and when you’ve lined all your ribbons up, you want to make sure that you kind of scrunch them together, and it makes it really, really easy, and girls can have so much fun decorating their own flip flops. And, it also doubles as a party favor! So, that is how to decorate little girls’ flip flops.
